Responsibilities ranged from project management to effective intra-office collaboration to event planning and development of innovative outreach strategies. In this role, Scott represented the voice of over 25,000 undergraduate students in ongoing advocacy initiatives and demonstrates that he is a leader in shaping the undergraduate student experience of Western students.
In July of 2017, Scott co-founded a non-profit organization called Open Arms and now acts as Executive Director. With a growing team and a continued focus on reducing national mental health stigma around youth, Open Arms is now represented on three major university and high school campuses nation-wide. Open Arms continues to see growth and more effective and innovative ways to begin national conversations. In the near future, the team hopes to achieve tangible progress and expand presence nation-wide. Scott’s involvement with non-profits demonstrates his passion for community betterment and national issues surrounding youth.
In finance, Scott gained valuable experience and insightful opportunities during the summers of 2018 and 2019 at RBC PH&N. Working with different intra-office teams allowed for a diverse range of projects and responsibilities. Throughout the summer, responsibilities were both client-facing and administratively focused. This experience helped develop an already existing passion in finance and advance future career goals.
My passion for learning extends far greater than schooling however, as music has been a major component of my life since turning four. Competing provincially and striving for personal achievement with Royal Conservatory examinations on the piano, I have developed a driven attitude that applies to every facet of my life.
However, I discuss this and more in my résumé, read more and discover the person I am or just find me at the piano bench, behind a desk, teaching at a ski hill, or out with friends and family enjoying a beautiful Calgary day overlooking the mountains.
